We are Cutting Bros. Inc. are looking for a talented Architectural Technologist to join our growing team, to showcase your design skills and develop new knowledge.

Cutting Bros. Inc. is an established timber frame, framing and decorative woodworking company that offers our clients the opportunity to form their dreams into reality. We design a wide range of timber structures, interior and exterior doors, stairs and custom projects.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a talented, focused and dynamic entry level architectural technologist. This person will have the ability to think outside the box, with strong drafting skills and have a good understanding of structural wood construction. They will be a team player, with an excellent attitude and disposition, recognizing the importance of a positive and supportive work environment.

Major Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be involved with, but not limited to, the following:
- prepare drawings of plans, elevations, cross sections and details of timber structures, interiors and exterior woodworking projects
- work collaboratively in a team environment and work with minimal supervision
-Actively promote and contribute to the successful completion of projects from initial concept, through the planning process to implementation
- anticipate/manage multiple and changing priorities, be flexible and able to shift priorities as needed to with day to day changes

Minimum Requirements for Employment:
- completion of a diploma in architectural technology with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience doing design and residential projects
- demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered
- proficient knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications
- excellent interpersonal skills are essential
- strong client communication, teamwork, collaboration, and problem solving skills required
- experience or knowledge of implantation of Ontario Building Code

- excellent written and verbal communication skills

- experience with CADWORK

For over 20 years, Cadwork has been providing 3D CAD/CAM solutions to both small and large companies (architects, engineers, carpenters, and other technicians). It offers a global and flexible solution, from planning to production, for all sectors of wood, metal, and reinforced concrete construction. Cadwork holds a significant market share, with over 6,000 licenses installed worldwide and 18 development, training, technical support, and sales centers globally. Our branch covers the markets in Canada and the United States.
We are looking to hire a TECHNICAL SALES REPRESENTATIVE to join our Cadwork team in Montreal, serving the North American markets.
1) Job Description:
The candidate will receive training on Cadwork software at the start of the contract to master all aspects of it.
Preparation of architectural and manufacturing plans for our clients.
Provide technical support and assistance to our existing customers, including service related to software purchases.
Demonstrate the software and conduct corporate training sessions, as well as follow up with potential clients.
Document bugs, track fixes, and test and validate them with the programmers.
Develop new 2D and 3D libraries.
Create various marketing documents.
Customer service, including entering data into our customer database.
Prepare quotes for software sales and other services.
Various administrative tasks (contracts, code calculations, student licenses, etc.).
Participate in trade shows across North America.
Create technical documents for the development of new features.
Develop training exercises, videos, and documents.
2) Required Experience:
A short practical experience in residential and/or commercial construction, as well as any experience with 3D modeling software, is an asset.
3) Required Education and Personal Skills:
The candidate must hold at least a college diploma with a solid background in computer-aided design (CAD). The candidate will be required to use various software, so proficiency and ease with computers are essential. The technical support and administrative aspect of the role requires someone who is a strong communicator, attentive to details, organized, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
4) Computer Tools:
Basic knowledge of CAD/CAM software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, etc. Proficiency in the Windows environment is required.
5) Languages:
The candidate must be fluent in both French and English, both spoken and written.
6) Employment Conditions:
Start date as soon as possible. Full-time, permanent position with daytime hours. The normal workweek is 40 hours. Compensation is annual and negotiable. Four weeks of vacation from the first year, along with 8 official holidays per year. Flexible and pleasant work environment.
